Scribbled Lives Week 6—Valentine
With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, the prompt is expressions of love.
I am impressed by the spectacular work presented by the Scribbled Lives group and was inspired to take an introductory watercolour workshop. For my project, I chose to use painting techniques learned in class and to feature a quotation from Mahatma Gandhi. My approach takes a broader view of Valentine’s Day.
Ta da! My first painting (actually my sixth trial…)—it’s simple, but it’s a start!

Round brush, watercolours on Arches 140 lb HP, Brause 1.5 and 0.75 mm nibs, crow quill, Pen White tinted with watercolour.
Grammar tidbit: the noun ‘envelope’ (the one you mail) is spelled differently than the verb ‘envelop’. Who knew?
