Scribbled Lives Week 10—Textures

Experimenting with letters to create texture, I used a pointed pen together with pressure and release techniques. For interest, watercolour was added to mimic a cascading effect from the centre—as if water is flowing around the letters.

‘Imminence of a Revelation’—Pointed pen and brush, sumi ink, watercolour, Saunders Waterford 140# CP watercolour paper. 10” x 10”.

I am still inspired by last week’s quote: “… certain twilights and certain places try to tell us something, or have said something we should not have missed, or are about to say something; this imminence of a revelation which does not occur is, perhaps, the aesthetic phenomenon.” Jorge Luis Borges

I almost posted this version before spying the fluffy, white cat (with long ears) or bunny (with pointy tail) in the centre!
