Scribbled Lives Week 33—Weave
This quote, a long-time favourite, is rendered in memory of my friend, Rosie Kelly, who loved making paste papers. They were always decorated in vivid colours and scribed with texts about creativity and the muse. I shall miss Rosie’s infectious artist vibe. Her book, Beyond Paste Papers—Artists’ Books, was written in 2012. It was my pleasure to collaborate with her as production coordinator and editor.
“The tapestry of life’s story is woven with the threads of life’s ties ever joining and breaking.” Rabindranath Tagore
I’m practicing An Vanhentenrijk’s Kalliandra alphabet recently learned in a class offered on Zoom. I attempted to make her freeform letters resemble tapestry fringe. Pasted Arches Text Wove, pointed pen, and Pen White.
