Scribbled Lives Week 8—Wine Label

There’s a fascination with wine labels. Produced by vineyards, a bounty of designs feature lettering and artwork representing the world’s grape-producing regions. Some are personal or humorous, while others are simply elegant—each label is a mini work of art. This week’s prompt was to design our own signature wine label.

Since I am not a wine aficionado, I managed to segue this week’s prompt into an opportunity to eat dark chocolate, paint cacao beans, and practice Bensgothic. Let me introduce a package design for my fabled Benschocolate! The Bensgothic hand has a casual, rustic charm and features crunchy edges.

Folded and pointed pens, walnut ink, and watercolour on 140 lb cold press watercolour paper.
