The Little Prince

Scribbled Lives Week 13—The Little Prince

This week’s topic is The Little Prince, written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. We were free to choose any text from this beloved children’s book.

I went online to refresh my memory about the story; however, after reading a synopsis, I was completely bewildered. There was no mention of the swallow. Nor the prince with the sapphire eyes.

It turns out I was confusing The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde with The Little Prince (no relation). Yikes! A library copy becomes available in 5 months, so I’m having to wing this week’s prompt. For your amusement—at a low point in my confused ramblings, my husband gently said, “No, that’s The Velveteen Rabbit.” Sheesh! So many children’s classics offering life lessons!

Watercolours, Coliro Finetec, and fineliner on Fabriano 140# CP. Microns don’t like the roughness of CP, but the blobby lettering does resemble vintage typewriter text!

Hills and a star in the sky with text that reads "It doesn't matter that you are not here in person as long as you are here in my heart" The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupé
