Scribbled Lives Week 33—By the Number

Lettering artists spend a lot of time practicing and perfecting letterforms. Numbers are equally important, but we rarely pay much attention to them. This week, we design a piece incorporating those vital, but overlooked numerical forms. 

I’m continuing to work on designing with negative space. The concept for these numbers was to imagine peering through window panes to view parts of them as if looking at museum pieces in a glass case.

The numbers are inspired by an alphabet I designed last year called Vitrine.
