Where’s the Rodeo?

The Royal City Calligraphy Guild boasts some imaginative hosts. Their conference, held every two years, is built around a different theme. This year—‘How Western Calligraphy was One’—was organized by Carol Donaghy and her team of volunteers. Ink slingers from southern Ontario arrived for a day of western adventure. The long-anticipated event, a COVID casualty shelved from 2020, was alive and live with excitement!

In my washable, wearable words class, students learned to add letters to clothing. They repurposed closet favourites and added pizzazz to new items by painting them with letters—essentially inking their clothing—on purpose!
