Combining Art Forms

Scribbled Lives Week 22—Combining Art Forms

Our challenge this week was to combine calligraphy—the art of beautiful writing—with some other art form. Calligraphy plus music, dance, theatre, film, quilting, toll painting, weaving, knitting, carpentry. Or perhaps poetry, illustration, or fine art.

After being stabbed by one too many pen points, it was time to sew a pen roll. I’m waiting for an order of sewing supplies to materialize. In the meantime, here’s some italic practice on a scrap of muslin. This photo captures the vibrant sheen of Daler-Rowney pearlescent inks.
