Scribbled Lives Week 40—Fireworks

When the Chinese invented fireworks in 200 BCE, I think my father was on hand! As far as I can remember, Dad would celebrate any occasion with a grand fireworks show in our backyard. Victoria Day in mid-May and Canada Day on July 1 were always highlights. Large spectacular explosions of colour and light were followed by the staccato of traditional Chinese red crackers. For the finale, he passed around sparklers so everyone could be a firebug!

Continuing to explore wrong letters using an Automatic pen #4, pointed pen, and watercolours on Saunders Waterford 140# HP.

Fireworks, red crackers, sparklers
Fireworks, Red Crackers, Sparklers

The first two letters do stretch the imagination for an “F” and “I”, but that’s wrong letters for ya!
