Circles

Scribbled Lives Week 29—Circles

For this prompt, the lyrics from “Circle” by Harry Chapin came to mind immediately. Researching his life and music was enlightening. A folk-rock composer, Chapin is remembered for his story telling, but he is also known for his philanthropic efforts to address world hunger. Towards the end of his life, he donated the proceeds from every second concert to charity. This was a challenge for his band members, so Chapin often played solo gigs; just him and his acoustic guitar. Forty years have passed since his sudden death; however, his song stories live on.

All my life's a circle, sunrise and sundown. Moon rolls thru the nighttime till the daybreak comes around. All my life's a circle, sunrise and sundown. Moon rolls thru the nighttime till the daybreak rolls around. Harry Chapin
Lyrics by Harry Chapin

After lettering the lyrics several times, I still managed to muddle them; should read “…daybreak comes around”.
