Scribbled Lives Week 31—Mountains
In 1873, John Muir wrote to his sister, “The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly.”
Naturalist John Muir (1838-1914) was an early advocate for preserving the American wilderness. The sentiments in his letter express his respect and sense of responsibility to protect the natural environment he was so keen to observe and study.
Most weeks, Scribbled Lives members are free to choose their own texts, but every once in a while we are all invited to focus on the same words. So this week, all 80 of us present our interpretation of Muir’s sentiment.
Several years ago, I attended a soccer game and admired the logo on a sports jacket worn by a fan. This week’s prompt provided the perfect opportunity to play with the letter shapes.
