Scribbled Lives Week 48—A-Z
Over the past several months I’ve been preoccupied with drawing wrong letters. This week’s prompt sent me back to my roots; italics was the first hand I learned.
I was intrigued when a fellow member described her studio practice—on occasion she reaches for whatever is handy on her work table.
On my table today, there’s a Speedball C-3 nib, Naples yellow gouache, and paste paper, enough for a petite accordion book. Of course, there’s always a fineliner, ready to draw built-up capitals.
What a carefree way to practice! No pressure. Just 26 letters and me—in the zone.
